As the number of students with disabilities (SWDs) continues to grow and overall enrollment declines statewide, Special Education costs continue to rise contributing to a growing General Fund contribution. In light of these financial demands, growing compliance demands, and increased expectations for improved outcomes for SWDs, the focus of the session will be on using data to drive actions and services that will improve student outcomes while leveraging resources, including the appropriate use of supplemental and concentration grant dollars, in support of those actions.
